MISSIONS, VISION & VALUES

Hammerhead Volleyball is a volleyball club owned by Hammerhead Sports. The mission of Hammerheads is to invest in athletes and their families and to build up players’ skills and put sports in perspective. Our philosophy is that sports are just a game, but we still play them with passion. This means working hard, being dedicated, and respecting the game, officials, and opponents.  We place a very high value on family and look for opportunities to reinforce the importance of family. Our vision as a club comes primarily from Philippians 2:14-16 which states, “Do everything readily and cheerfully – no bickering, no second-guessing allowed! Go out into the world uncorrupted, a breath of fresh air in this squalid and polluted society. Provide people with a glimpse of good living and of the living God!” Hammerhead Volleyball believes that all players, coaches, and parents should go into any practice, games, or tournaments readily and cheerfully, without bickering or complaining.

TEAM PHILOSOPHIES

  • Work hard and play with passion.
  • Playing time is not guaranteed, but there are no bench players.
  • 1s/2s teams will be more competitive and play in more difficult tournaments.
  • 3s, 4s, and 5s teams will work hard to be competitive, but sometimes the focus will be more on skill development.
  • Teams will take their officiating responsibility seriously.
  • Players and coaches will show respect toward officials and other teams. There will be times that we fail. When this happens, we need to be sure to take responsibility.
  • Players are expected to make practice and games when possible. If a player needs to miss a practice or a game, they are expected to take responsibility and communicate with their coach(es).  Failure to communicate or consistently missing practices and/or games may result in loss of playing time.
